Funding Areas

The CAFLISCH Foundation pursues its purpose in five funding areas:
Research and Higher Education in the Field of Public International Law, including Human Rights 

The Foundation supports and promotes research and teaching at universities and independent institutions in the field of public international law, including human rights.

 

It supports and promotes excellence in the study of public international law, in particular by funding one or more university chairs in that field, by sponsoring educational and research projects and programmes, and by granting awards and scholarships to teachers, students, researchers and others who are able to make significant contributions to the development of and the education in public international law.

Peace, Global Security and International Humanitarian Law

The Foundation supports and promotes projects and institutions contributing to the preservation of peace and global security as well as to the implementation and development of international humanitarian law. In particular, it supports efforts to protect the victims of armed conflict.

It also promotes the idea of democracy, the rule of law, a liberal society and an independent judiciary.

Protection and Security of Water Resources

The Foundation supports and promotes institutions, projects and the elaboration of effective solutions to preserve and protect water bodies and to secure and improve access to water resources.

Education and Research in the Fields of History, Linguistics and Etymology

The Foundation supports and promotes education and research in the fields of history, linguistics and etymology. It does so, in particular, by granting awards or scholarships and by providing other kinds of support to researchers and advanced students.

Music, Visual Arts and Culture

The Foundation supports and promotes research, mentoring activities and performances in the fields of classical music, the visual arts and culture. It supports the promotion, dissemination and performance of classical music, especially of forgotten or seldom played works. It also supports endeavours to assist education in the arts, in particular the visual arts.
